Ok so here goes...
So, I've been threatening for a while now to start writing down my thoughts and opinions and decided the time is as good as any to get my fingers off of their proverbial backside so to speak and start this blogging malarky!
So what am I going to write about? To be honest, I still aren't sure myself but I can see it heading towards my thoughts and opinions around the mobile phone industry, how it has changed over the last decade that I have been a part of it and where I see the industry heading in the future. There will more-than-likely be reviews for handsets that have been released and I have been able to get hold of to try out, my own take on the industry news that has come out and a few rants etc. about non phone related things!
Why Broken Hairdryer I hear you ask? Well a broken hairdryer is meant to let out lots of hot air but fails miserably and I see this blog pretty much heading the same way so I couldn't think of a more apt name for it!
So before I start let me tell you a little bit about me for the ones that do not know me (to be honest the only people that will read this are people who know me and want to have a laugh!), I am a 31 year old Retail Store Manager for the mobile phone industry and have worked in this industry for the last 10 years. There have been many MANY changes in this industry (will save the detail for a later blog post) and as much as the retail environment is changing rapidly, my love for the devices that have been my passion for the last 10 years has not faltered. I am married to my absolutely stunning wife Laura and have 3 amazing children who rule the roost and run rings around us to be honest! I love all technology and I especially love it when people make changes for the better (e.g. HP Touchpad with Android and PC with Mac OS on them) It really does amaze me the vision and determination some of these people show that dedicate their free time to making things work that couldn't or shouldn't, it is amazing!
So that is my first post... I hope I can entertain, give insight and maybe even help you make a decision or two (like never to write a blog post!).
